Job Description:
Overview: This is a full-time position basis at the Jewellery Museum Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations, curation, and promotion of the jewellery museum. You will play a pivotal role in preserving and showcasing the museum's collection, while also managing day-to-day administrative tasks, engaging with visitors, and developing strategies to enhance the museum's profile and revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curatorial Duties:
o Manage the museum's collection, including acquisition, conservation, and documentation of jewellery pieces.
o Develop and implement exhibition plans, ensuring that displays are engaging, informative, and aligned with the museum's objectives.
o Collaborate with curators, historians, and designers to create compelling exhibitions that attract diverse audiences.
2. Operational Management:
o Oversee all aspects of museum operations, including staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and facility maintenance.
o Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and ethical guidelines for handling precious artefacts.
o Implement best practices for collections management, including proper storage, handling, and display of jewellery items.
3. Visitor Engagement:
o Provide exceptional customer service to museum visitors, addressing inquiries, guiding tours, and facilitating educational programs.
o Develop outreach initiatives to attract new audiences and engage with the local community, schools, and cultural organizations.
o Utilize digital platforms and social media to promote museum events, exhibitions, and educational resources.
4. Strategic Planning:
o Develop long-term strategies to enhance the museum's reputation, visibility, and financial sustainability.
o Identify opportunities for revenue generation, such as fundraising campaigns, sponsorship deals, and merchandising partnerships.
o Conduct market research and audience analysis to tailor museum offerings to the interests and preferences of target demographics.
5. Collaboration and Networking:
o Foster relationships with stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, government agencies, and industry partners.
o Collaborate with other museums, cultural institutions, and academic institutions to share resources, knowledge, and expertise.
o Represent the museum at conferences, symposiums, and industry events to promote collaboration and exchange of ideas.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Museum Studies, Art History, Cultural Management, or a related field.
· Proven experience in museum management, with a focus on jewellery or decorative arts preferred.
· Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue generation strategies.
· Knowledge of museum best practices, standards, and ethical guidelines for collections management.
· Familiarity with digital technologies, social media platforms, and online marketing tools.
· Passion for jewellery, art, and cultural heritage, with a dedication to promoting access and inclusivity in museum spaces.
