Pearsons Services is a NDIS-registered allied health practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Our diverse team includes speech pathologists, social workers, support coordinators, support workers and mentors- all working together to provide holistic and effective support to NDIS participants across the lifespan. We are a collaborative, compassionate, slightly quirky team that genuinely loves what we do.
The Role:
As a Behaviour Practitioner, you’ll support children, adolescents, and adults with diverse needs by developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies that promote safety, independence, and participation.
You will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex needs by:
Supporting NDIS participants to live their best, most independent lives
· Conducting functional behaviour assessments and functional analyses
· Developing and reviewing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
Developing and implementing evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans
Collaborating with participants, families, and support teams to build capacity and resilience
Empowering families, carers and support networks with real strategies that make a difference for the participant.
Working closely with our in-house multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care
Maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to ongoing service improvement
· Reducing restrictive practices through proactive, ethical approaches
· Providing training, coaching, and capacity building to support networks
· Completing NDIS reports and documentation aligned with the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Framework
You will have the flexibility to work across home, school, community, and telehealth settings.
What We’re Looking For:
Eligibility to work as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner (assessed by the NDIS Commission)
Preference will be given to those who hold a core practitioner status
Qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Special Education, Youth Work or related fields is preferred
Experience in delivering behaviour support under the NDIS is desirable
A compassionate, strengths-based approach to client care
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Well developed interpersonal skills
Key Requirements:
Current driver's license and ability to travel locally
Member of your professional body
NDIS Worker Screener
Working with Children Check
Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) certification
or be willing to obtain prior to commencing employment
Child Safe Environments ‘Through Their Eyes’ Training
or be willing to obtain prior to commencing employment
· Experience in working within the Disability sector (preferable)

Knowledge:
· Understanding and knowledge of the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Framework
· Understanding and knowledge of restrictive practices
· Understanding of the NDIS Code of Conduct and act in compliance at all times and willing to act in accordance with the Pearsons Services Mission Statement.
· Understanding of Disability Service Standards and relevant legislation.
· Understanding of United Nations Convention on Human Rights for People with a Disability.
· Understanding and knowledge of the Privacy Act and relevant confidentiality requirements.
