Job Description
Neonatal services offered in Dunedin include care for extreme preterm infants, high frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, and whole-body cooling
Provide and supervise neonatal transport services by helicopter or fixed wing aircraft to the Otago and Southland region
Participate in the neonatal on-call roster (currently 1:5), with availability from home for urgent consultations and emergency retrievals
Provide antenatal and perinatal advice to obstetric and midwifery colleagues across the Otago and Southland region
Conduct neonatal outpatient clinics, including rural outreach as required
Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including registrars, house officers, and medical students from the University of Otago
Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and governance activities
Contribute to service planning, quality assurance, and clinical improvement initiatives
Engage in teaching, research, and professional development activities
