Job Description

About The Role:

Based at our head office in Hamilton, this is a hands-on, frontline role where you will help keep the Tuatahi fibre and business networks stable, secure, and performing at their best. You will be part of our rostered NOC team, providing 24x7 network operations support and playing a key role in monitoring events, managing incidents, coordinating network changes and releases, and identifying underlying problems. You will also support our Retail Service Provider (RSP) customers by managing escalated incidents and seeing issues through to resolution.

What you will be doing

Monitor network performance and events, log and acknowledge incidents, and engage field support or third parties as needed

Diagnose faults, drive restoration activities, and maintain clear, accurate incident records and communications

Coordinate and control network changes with a strong focus on risk reduction, and support network release activities

Take ownership of escalations, coordinate resources, and keep customers and stakeholders informed throughout

Support RSPs with escalated customer incidents and network change requests, building strong working relationships


Skills and Experience Required:

To be successful, you will have:

Practical experience working in a 24x7 shift roster role

At least two years’ experience in telecommunications network operations

Solid technical knowledge of Ultrafast Broadband technologies and network operations

A technical qualification in Telecommunications, plus CCNA (or equivalent)

Desirable (but not essential):

Previous NOC experience

ITIL and/or a recognised Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related IT field
