Job description
Young Minds Learning Academy Preschool is looking to hire a loving, experienced, and energetic lead teacher and/or floater teacher. Our teachers have a passion for children, and we work hard to create a fun learning environment for the children!
Please see details below:
Compensation: $24-$30/hour. Starts at $24 per hour but increases based on education and experience, 6 months .50 cent raise, paid health insurance, and paid sick time/holidays. 401K available after 1 year.
-Hours for position: Monday- Friday 9:00am-6:00pm hours may vary.
-Position start: ASAP
-Must be CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to renew.
-Must have at least 12 ECE core units.
To qualify for the lead teacher at YMLA you need a minimum of 12 units with the required courses below:
Required Core Courses: (12 units) Grade C or higher
ECE Child, Family and Community (3 units)
ECE Child Growth and Development (3 units)
ECE Introduction to Curriculum (3 units)
ECE Any ECE class as long as its 3 units or more
Always supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children, being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
Plan and implement the curriculum with Directors.
Keep classrooms, storage rooms, and bathrooms clean, neat, and orderly.
Prepare snacks for children each day.
Conduct individual conferences with parents of each child at least twice yearly.
Send home weekly observation notes for children.
Attend continuing education seminars/workshops each year.
Understand and adhere to all the preschool policies.
Keep director informed of program needs, special needs or problems of individual children, and/or any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect
Report any cases of suspected child abuse to the proper authorities even if director was notified.
Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings.
Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with stated policy on discipline.

• Physical capability to lift 40 pounds and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Hourly pay is $18.60. In Minnesota, there is an additional $3.00 per hour premium for all classroom hours worked, funded through the Minnesota Great Start Grant Compensation Support Program.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Lead Teacher and a Part-Time (PM) Teacher Assistant to join our early childhood education team. Our program is committed to providing a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment aligned with CSPP standards.
Full-Time Lead Teacher Responsibilities
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with CSPP and DRDP
• Conduct ongoing child observations and assessments using DRDP
• Lead classroom activities, including circle time, small groups, and learning stations
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with staff, families, and administration to support children’s growth
Part-Time PM Teacher Assistant Responsibilities
• Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom routines and activities
• Assist with supervision, transitions, and classroom management
• Help prepare materials and maintain a clean and safe environment
• Engage with children in meaningful interactions to support learning and development
Qualifications (Both Positions)
• Must hold a valid Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) (Lead Teacher required; Assistant preferred or eligible)
