Client Director NSW - Financial Institutions & Professions (FI&P)


The Financial Institutions & Professions (FI&P) vertical stands as the largest part of the Specialties Solutions segment. The FI&P team delivers insurance and risk advisory services to clients in the financial and professional services fields, concentrating on sophisticated, high-risk, and regulated firms. Aon unites risk and human capital to supply industry insights, data and analytics, risk consulting, recommendations, and insurance solutions that support clients' business aims and goals.


As a Client Director, you will lead all aspects of the FI&P portfolio and focus on achieving consistent acquisition, excellent retention and delivery across NSW.

What the day will look like
You will be responsible for:

Partnering with the Managing Director and Sales & Growth Strategy leads to handle internal channel distribution relationships and drive strategic sales initiatives
Recognizing and transforming new business prospects, managing tender responses and proposals, and supporting the growth and retention of Aon's FI&P offerings
Supervising open market placement activities, maintaining consistency with go-to-market strategies and compliance with broking standards
Actively directing a portfolio of clients within the Financial Institutions and Professions sector, involving the strategic oversight of client relationships at a senior level
Delivering a client-centric, cross solution line approach to servicing clients
Supervising and interpreting industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments, sharing insights with internal and external partners
Taking part in significant presentation opportunities at industry gatherings to increase visibility of Aon’s brand and strengths in the Financial Institutions/Professions area
Leading P&L and margin performance for assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with financial goals and strategic targets
Leading and supporting operational changes, embedding agile practices and modern tools to improve efficiency and client outcomes
Mentoring and leading a high-performing team, supporting career development, performance management, and succession planning
Maintaining strategic relationships with insurance carrier partners in all key markets and negotiating appropriate risk transfer solutions based on individual client risk profile

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Significant background in the Financial Lines Insurance sector emphasizing risk identification and risk transfer for clients in Financial Institutions/Professions
Solid technical knowledge of a wide variety of Financial Lines Insurance products and risk solutions, including Professional Indemnity (PI), Directors & Officers (D&O), and Crime insurance
A high level of understanding of client profitability
Excellent cross-selling abilities
A keen entrepreneurial spirit and flair for business development
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated success in leading team relationships and senior-level client relationships
Qualifications meeting the requirements of the Financial Services Reform Act (minimum Tier 1 Broking Compliance)
