Your Opportunity:
The South Health Campus provides service to the Calgary Zone in high-need areas, including Women’s Health, NICU, Emergency, Surgery and Mental Health. It serves inpatients and outpatients, providing wellness services, illness prevention, and public health learning opportunities for the community in conjunction with a YMCA on-site. The South Health Campus has four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation. These pillars guide the development and delivery of service to all patients and families at SHC. This position is responsible for providing and performing the highest quality service possible, to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services during Nuclear Medicine including SPECT examinations. This is done in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call, as assigned. This position is a multisite position that is shared with Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Description:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) II you will be responsible for coordinating the day- to-day operations of a nuclear medicine area or performing specialized nuclear medicine procedures for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. You will provide and perform the highest quality service possible, to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services during Nuclear Medicine including SPECT/CT examinations. This is done in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of registry exam in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Member in good standing and current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). BCLS certification. Venipuncture and Lasix certification. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork. Perception, initiative, good judgement and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
Acute facility adult NM experience. Acute facility pediatric NM experience. Full CTIC Certificate with completed practicum. Experience with Epic/Connect Care Software an asset.
