The shift pattern is 12 hour shifts over 24/7.
The salary is pro rata for part time hours.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at our National Child Inpatient Unit in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. Ward 4 is a 6-bed Tier 4 CAMHS ward for children aged 5-12 years, providing assessment and clinical interventions to young people experiencing a range of complex mental health difficulties. Both full-time and part time posts are available.
The successful applicant will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, or Registered Learning Disability Nurse, preferably with experience of working in an inpatient setting and working with young people and their families. A positive attitude, conscientiousness, care, consideration, compassion, willingness to learn, and ability to maintain a high standard of nursing care are essential.
The post-holder will be responsible for:
Assessment
Care-planning
Implementation
And evaluation of nursing care programmes using a strength-based, recovery-focused approach that proactively involves the young person.
The post holder is required to be able to undertake duties without direct supervision, working in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals/agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies. The successful candidate is required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a dynamic and evolving service.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2026, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. You may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
