Primary objective
To provide strategic, high-level leadership and policy advice to the Executive Director of Clinical Excellence and Patient Safety in order to develop,
implement, monitor and evaluate a comprehensive, evidence based digital health solutions safety and quality governance framework and related policies
and procedures for NT Health digital health solutions.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead the strategic development, implementation and monitoring of the clinical safety and quality governance framework for NT Health digital health
solutions.
2. Work with internal and external stakeholders to establish, maintain and evaluate processes and systems to ensure NT Health digital health solutions
meet the national standards and the standards set out in the clinical governance framework.
3. Provide high-level advice and guidance on safety and quality governance of digital health solutions and related activities and establish collaborative
links with clinicians, Clinical leads, Office of the Chief Clinical Information Officer, Department of Corporate and Digital Development, Legal services
and other stakeholders
4. Lead the adoption of policies and protocols for NT Health in relation to digital health solutions, specifically in the areas of safety and quality and clinical
governance.
5. Represent NT in relevant national forums, lead and coordinate the NT Health contribution to relevant national initiatives, programmes and projects
where they pertain to digital health safety and quality matters.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high
quality, safe services and workplaces
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Bachelor’s degree or other postgraduate qualification in a health profession, including eligibility for registration with the relevant board
2. Substantial experience in leading continuous quality improvement, research and education for digital health solutions, clinical governance standards
and frameworks
3. Substantial experience in leading collaborative partnerships, and a well-developed capacity to consult, collaborate and negotiate effectively with a
diverse range of stakeholders
4. Previous senior level experience in a multidisciplinary role in a state or territory health service or equivalent large private sector health organisation
5. Proven experience in the management of complex projects and evaluations and the formulation of detailed information, complex correspondence and
reports in plain English
6. Substantial experience managing clinical governance frameworks for digital health systems and associated standards locally, nationally and
internationally

1. Qualification in digital health

Provides authoritative strategic and operational advice that influences contemporary nursing/midwifery practice and service delivery across a defined
number of practice areas.
Context statement
To provide strategic, high-level leadership and policy advice to the Executive Director of CEPS in order to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate a
comprehensive, evidence based digital health safety and quality governance framework and related policies and procedures for NT Health relating to digital
health. The position will provide advice and guidance on safety and quality governance of digital health solutions and establish, maintain and evaluate
processes and systems to ensure NT Health meet national standards. The applicant will establish and maintain strong collaborative links with internal and
external stakeholders and across government agencies to lead the adoption of policies and protocols for NT Health in relation to digital health solutions.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Leads and collaborates in the development, review, and evaluation of services, including interpreting established professional precedents and
organisational policies, and supporting change management as required for operational effectiveness and delivery of contemporary safe and effective
healthcare.
2. Accountable for the outcomes of nursing/midwifery services across a defined number of practice areas and for addressing inconsistencies between
practice and policy.
3. Creditably advocate for nursing/midwifery and represent the profession(s) effectively across the Health Service and the NT.
4. Demonstrate NTH values - safe; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure
high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
2. Demonstrated contribution to the profession and/or specialty at local and national level.
3. Demonstrated high-level leadership and management skills including strategic thinking, practical people management, and the ability to successfully
support change in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
4. Demonstrated ability to deploy financial and human resources strategically and effectively to support successful attainment of the organisation’s
strategic and operational plans.
5. Demonstrated ability to facilitate a positive work environment that promotes professional excellence and builds organisational capability and
responsiveness.
6. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to maximise productive working relationships, including with relevant specialists and executive
management, and manages conflict to promote co-operation, teamwork and understanding.
7. Demonstrates and applies highly developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence
health care provision for individuals and groups.
Desirable
1. Master’s degree, or equivalent, beyond entry to practice relevant to specialty area.
2. Graduate Certificate in Management or equivalent.
