NVY by Studio Janala is an Indo-German fashion startup that’s redefining contemporary women’s wear with a balance of creativity, craftsmanship, and conscious design. Currently in our prelaunch phase, we are building a dynamic team to bring our vision to life blending Indian artistry with international aesthetics.
Role Overview:
During your internship, you will actively collaborate with manufacturers, vendors, and various merchandising teams to coordinate sample production, quality checks, and bulk production management. The role will primarily focus on merchandising (approximately 80%) with some involvement in design (around 20%).
Key Responsibilities:
•Coordinate design sketches, fabric selection, trims, and color palettes.
•Fabric & Material Sourcing:
•Identify, evaluate, and manage local and regional fabric and trim suppliers.
•Negotiate pricing, quality standards, and timelines.
•Vendor Management:
•Develop strong relationships with tailoring units, dyeing houses, and other production partners.
•Ensure vendors adhere to quality, cost, and timeline expectations.
•Sample & Production Management:
•Oversee sample development, approvals, and fittings.
•Coordinate production schedules, quality checks, and dispatch readiness.
•Brand Operations & Coordination:
•Maintain detailed documentation of designs, samples, and production status.
•Support photoshoots, lookbooks, and marketing material coordination as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
•Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or a related field..
•Strong understanding of women’s wear design, fabric types, and garment construction.
•Excellent communication and coordination skills.
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and familiar with design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop preferred).
•Detail-oriented, self-driven, and adaptable to a fast-paced startup environment.
