The Role:
We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the team at James Brown Care Centre in Lesmurdie. This role is a permanent part-time position working 40 hours per fort night.
Week 1 & 2
Monday: 1000 - 1530
Tuesday: 1000 - 1530
Wednesday: 1000 - 1530
Thursday: 1000 - 1530
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and assist fellow OTA staff to conduct resident activities and outings correctly and safely
Ensure records, statistics and progress notes are completed as required by the Occupational Therapist
Assist with mobilising and transferring residents – moving from place to place and position to position
Meet residents’ personal care needs, safety and comfort, whilst driving satisfactory completion of planned programs
About You:
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant you will plan and organise staff to carry out therapeutic activities under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Manager and or Registered Nurse.
Essential Criteria:
Current knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principals and practices
Ability to relate to older people with empathy and understanding
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Proven success working collaboratively in a team environment
Demonstrated skills prioritising workload and managing time effectively
Valid Police Clearance less than 6 months old (or ability to obtain at interview stage)
NDIS Screening (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)
Successful completion of pre employment medical and reference checks
Evidence of Flu (2026)
Availability to attend a paid 3-day induction (Monday – Wednesday) at our Rivervale Training Institute
