Kratos Defense and Security Solutions’ FTT UK office has the requirement for an Office Operations Manager to support our growing presence in the UK. FTT UK is a 30-person aerospace engineering company based in Derby. The job combines the skills of an Office Manager and of a qualified accountant that can deliver the prime role in the day-to-day activities of FTT UK to ensure an efficient workflow of FTT UK’s accounting, HR, and "non-engineering" administrative functions. This is a leadership role that has ownership of FTT UK’s support functions but also requires a hands-on approach to perform accounting, HR and administration functions themselves.
The role will require close collaboration with all levels within the FTT UK team, and with the management team of FTT UK’s parent company, FTT INC (Florida, USA).
The role is "in-person" office based, with flexibility of work hours (core hours are required).
Responsibilities
To provide independent and self-reliant management of the HR, Accounting and Administrative functions for FTT UK.
Accounting:
Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual financial statements
UK point of contact for the accounting and HR services team
Preparation of financial evaluations (forecasts, rates, capital investments, etc.)
Cooperation in budget preparation
Management of payment transactions (account management)
Personnel accounting/payroll accounting
Reporting to management
Internal and external audit responsibility for accounting process
Management of customer orders and invoicing
Reconciliation of project management to project costs/settlements
Ensuring all reporting is compliant with statutory law and financial regulations
Ensuring compliance with all HMRC requirements
Presenting reports and results to senior executives/stakeholders’ group
Human Resources:
Onboarding/Offboarding of personnel
Recruiting
Participation in personnel planning
Participation in performance reviews and documentation
Certificates/Applications
Employee management
Monthly evaluation of personnel costs/working hours
Participation in work safety meetings
Administrative:
Management and monitoring of local insurances
Travel expense reports/approvals/payment
Purchase of office supplies/indirect spend
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) ideal. Business/HR law familiarity would be a plus.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in an accounting role with 5 years’ experience at a management level.
Adept to working independently and making proactive improvements.
Ability to meet monthly deadlines and manage the accounting calendar.
Able to show a supportive, collaborative approach across all business stakeholders and senior leadership.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to interpret and manipulate large volumes sets of data.
Ability to challenge at all levels and communicate with clear and reasoned verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work to conflicting deadlines and effectively prioritise own and team's dynamic workload.
Professional and positive with high ethical standards.
Excellent judgement and an excellent decision-making maker skilled in a fast paced, agile environment.
Highly PC literate & skilled with all Microsoft Office based applications.
Work Environment
The work environment is a traditional but informal open office setting.
Travel may be required from time to time within the UK, Europe (Germany) and the USA (Florida).
Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
