Job Description

Recovery Acres Calgary Society (RACS) is a fully accredited addiction treatment provider offering bed-based treatment and recovery options, as well as Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for individuals aged 18 and over, regardless of their gender identity. With a commitment to trauma-informed care and cultural competence, RACS operates 1835 House and 183+ House, supporting clients in achieving long-term recovery and restoring individuals, families, and communities to wellness.

Accountable to the Executive Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of RACS. Key aspects include: support to strategic planning activities, ongoing quality improvement; leadership in operational planning, oversight of all facilities or related maintenance, special projects, and assistance in monitoring operative and capital budgets. The Operations Manager will assume the responsibilities of the Executive Director in the event of their absence.

Service Responsibilities

- Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of RACS.

- Review with Executive Director and ensure all legislative requirements are met and contractual obligations with government grants are fulfilled.

- Responsible for funder relations including annual submissions to the Provincial Government, AHS and other governing bodies.

- Coordinate the maintenance and repair for each facility, maintaining an updated list of preferred contacts for staff to call in emergencies.

- Ensure policies and procedures are consistently applied in all departments, and that service standards are maintained in all programs.

- In league with the Executive Director, assist in the preparation and effective monitoring of departmental operating and capital budgets ensuring efficiencies are identified and acted on.

- Responsible for managing the Executive Director’s assignments in his/her absence, including acting as spokesperson for the agency to the media and other external parties.

Organizational Responsibilities

- To prepare for and actively participate in regular meetings with the Executive Director, including the evaluation of the Strategic Plan.

- To actively participate as part of the Leadership Team, undertaking responsibilities as assigned.

- To maintain accurate and complete records and files required by RACS, ensuring confidentiality is maintained on all agency, personnel and client matters.

- Assists with raising the profile of RACS through participation in agency and community events.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 or more years’ senior management experience.

- Extensive knowledge and experience with social services and programs required.

- Strong influence, change management and team building skills. Ability to build strong relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders internally and externally.

- Experience in program planning and evaluation, program supervision, and program/revenue development.

- Strong employee relations, diplomacy, negotiation, and report writing skills. Ability to guide, coach and motivate employees.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
