We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator with demonstrable experience on SAP Platform Operations, architecture, and design who will help craft the technical roadmap, support the SAP transformation, run day-to-day operations ensuring systems are running reliably and provides recommendation on how to improve the service. Your team This role works with the Global SAP Platform Operations Leader. The team is responsible for the management and continuous delivery of SAP Digital Products, Services and Solutions in SAP Basis, Platform Security, SAP Infrastructure, SAP Analytics & Cloud Services. The team, currently 60 people strong, will operate globally and is organised regionally with teams in NA, LA, Europe and Asia. How success looks like Providing technical support on SAP systems running on Oracle. Establishing standards and requirements, evaluating, and implementing solutions for performance monitoring, and systems configuration, design, and execution. Leading root cause analysis and defining corrective action plans for problem records. Sharing expertise with the broader team, enabling them to support operations within your domain of expertise. Building the Oracle DB cloud environment roadmap and strategy for SAP. Leading continuous improvement and engineering maturity across our SAP landscape on Oracle. Responsibilities of the role • Accountable for driving operational excellence and implementing engineering solutions for SAP in the Cloud. • Apply database administration skills to lead the design, deployment, and support of our Oracle databases in Azure for SAP, aligned with architecture and security standards. • Designing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOP) independently. Identifying, building and implementing appropriate solutions to remediate operational deficiencies. Providing Tier 2/3 support for incidents and problems. Participating in emergency investigations with other teams as needed. • Help operationalize the resiliency and disaster recovery processes for our SAP database landscape and aid in the development of infrastructure processes for SAP workloads (e.g., automation, monitoring, etc.) Job Qualifications Role Requirements • Amenable to work and/or relocate in Mumbai • At least 3-6 years of experience as an Oracle DBA or SQL Server DBA (or equivalent) in a cloud environment for SAP. Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field • Solid grasp of automation concepts, tools, and scripting languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Bash Shell, PowerShell, Puppet, Terraform) • Knowledge of database monitoring and alerting tools, both cloud-native and third-party and experienced in automating routine administrative tasks • Experienced in administration of DBMS systems with deep knowledge in UNIX/Linux OS administration, disk configuration, and network configuration • Excellent written and verbal communication (in both IT and business) with good interpersonal skills in addressing management, team members, application owners and technology professionals. • Strong analytical, debugging and problem solving skills, ability to apply critical thinking and a seriousness for solving incidents. Preferred qualifications: • Deep understanding of database logging, replication options including CDC (Change Data Capture) • Hands on systems administration for Windows, Linux, and/or UNIX • Cloud vendor (Azure, GCP, AWS) certification at the administrator or developer level • Awareness of basic information security awareness protocols, software security in the SDLC lifecycle, and OWASP Top 10 concepts • IT operations background and/or ITIL foundations knowledge • Delivers results with the ability to prioritize. Problem-solving demeanour (blameless post-mortem). • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. • Understands interaction between database and non-database components with expertise in SQL and database programming languages (PL/SQL, TSQL, etc.) • Independently leads database administration and engineering for multiple projects in similar industry or function • Certified on one or more of the following: ITIL4 Foundations, DevOps Foundation, SRE Foundation, Microsoft Azure AZ-104, AWS SysOps or any equivalent.
