About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to oversee and maintain our enterprise-level SQL and Oracle database environments. The role involves managing business intelligence systems, data warehouses, and operational databases feeding into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The successful candidate will ensure the stability, security, and performance of critical database systems, supporting 24/7 operations. They will be responsible for deploying code, managing upgrades, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements. The role requires proactive capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to optimize database environments. Additionally, the DBA will collaborate with development teams to refine database designs, maintain access controls, and oversee backup, recovery, and archiving processes. Regular communication with technical, operational, and application teams is essential to uphold database integrity and security. The candidate must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Responsibility
• Oversee all SQL and Oracle databases, including BI, data warehouse, and operational systems feeding into EDW.
• Create, monitor, and optimize enterprise-level database systems, including performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Deploy code, manage upgrades, and ensure adherence to audit and compliance standards.
• Maintain database environments, including storage, backup, recovery, and performance management.
• Assist developers in refining database logical designs for production and testing environments.
• Manage access permissions and privileges for database security.
• Oversee audit controls and collaborate with Internal Audit to meet compliance requirements.
• Ensure continuous operation of production systems, providing troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Analyze system hardware/software to resolve issues and recommend performance enhancements.
• Communicate regularly with technical and operational teams to ensure database integrity and security.
Qualifications
• 7-10 years of experience in database administration.
• Extensive experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server maintenance, tuning, and scripting.
• Knowledge of Informix, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and GIT is beneficial.
• Proven experience with clustered, mirrored, and replicated database environments, especially for disaster recovery.
• Strong analytical skills for hardware/software troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Ability to work under deadlines with attention to detail.
• Self-starter with initiative and result-oriented mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
