Job Description
We are seeking one (1) intermediate-level Database Architect (DBA) to perform technical and administrative work in the support, maintenance, design, development, and implementation of the Oracle and MongoDB database systems used by the Department’s various systems and applications. Current or Past experience working with government agencies is a must-have.
Responsibilities
The DBA is expected to monitor daily jobs, troubleshoot errors, resolve problems, create database views, implement stored procedures, and optimize Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) functions and procedures. The primary database used by CityDBS is Oracle with Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) and Tableau reporting environments.
The DBA will be expected to assist with the underlying SQL queries and the creation of database views for use in these reporting environments. CityDBS currently supports both on-premises and cloud environments.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve errors within the CityDBS Oracle and MongoDB database systems.
Deploy and monitor Oracle PL/SQL functions and procedures.
Provide project documentation and information as needed, including optimizing and writing SQL queries.
Assist in design discussions for the creation of new database systems, views, and stored procedures to support development and reporting.
Monitor and configure scheduled jobs for the database systems, including backup and data import and export.
Enforce accepted CityDBS and industry information systems standards to ensure application security, integrity, and optimization.
Assist CityDBS staff in updating the Department’s applications during production deployments.
Effectively coordinate, interact with, and take direction from the CityDBS Systems staff.
Provide production support in mission critical applications.
Requirements
The qualified candidate must have at least four (4) or more years of experience in the following areas:
Oracle database support
MongoDB support (1-year minimum)
PL/SQL and stored procedures
Delivering high-quality results
Adapting to and managing changing situations and priorities
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff
Working respectfully in a culturally diverse work environment
Working with government agencies
Working independently in a team environment
Most preferred Qualifications / Experience
Oracle Database support (4+ years and recent experience)
MongoDB Database support (1+ years and recent experience)
PL/SQL experience
Experience working with government agencies
Pay: $60.00 - $64.00 per hour
