Job Description
What you'll get to do...
• Install and manage multiple Oracle databases
• Ensure the running of the Registry platform meets and exceeds all existing contracted SLAs, including providing all monthly SLA and performance reporting
• Assist with the maintenance of the underlying Linux servers, working with the Systems administrator to deliver changes, upgrades, and maintenance tasks
• Assist with deploying new software
• Assist with Disaster Recovery testing and planning
• Manage the performance of the databases
• Ensure any external audits or client audit requests are fulfilled
• Ensure the security of the data in the databases, including through backup and recovery testing
• Write SQL queries and data extraction processes to meet customer requirements
• Work closely with the Customer Service team to quickly resolve technical issues and provide training and guidance to improve the customer service functions
• Ensure the security of the data, based upon data classification. Whilst servicing multiple requests for business intelligence data
Your experience should include...
• 3 +years of experience as a Database administrator in Oracle
• Experience with Oracle RAC or Dataguard
• Excellent experience with writing SQL queries
• Experience with performance management of databases, as well as the backup and recovery of databases
• Excellent documentation skills, including the ability to write technical instructions
• Strong experience with managing RedHat Enterprise Linux, including installing, patching, and configuring physical and virtual servers
• Basic DNS knowledge of how DNS works
• procedural documentation, and incident reports
• Experience with operational support models, such as ITSM
• IT security knowledge, ensuring Oracle and Linux servers are kept secure at all times
• Strong drive to learn, grow, and share IT knowledge across the team

• Experience with AWS databases and compute deployments
• PostgreSQL and Mongo experience
• Experience with ISO 27001 controls and other IT Security Frameworks
• Experience working in Agile based teams.
• ITIL or COBIT certification.
• Experience with Data Warehouse type systems
• Experience with coding or scripting (Perl, Python, Java in particular)
• Experience with server configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible
