Description
Mandatory Skills :
Excellent experience in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data guard, OEM, RMAN, Patching, Shell Scripting and Performance Tuning
Experience running and supporting large databases under high transaction rates
Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues using tools like OEM
Solid experience in database migration from one platform to another, patching, upgrade, data loading, security, capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning
Ability to manage all database maintenance, plan activities including backups, indexing, integrity and consistency checks, etc.
Ability to analyze traces, debug stored procedures, triggers and packages
Automates routine database functions to ensure accuracy and minimize costs
Monitors all production database activity for operational improvements to include, but not limited to CPU, Disk and Memory utilization, space utilization, replication and consistency of sites, long running queries/data loads, query access plans, security infractions and overall performance of databases
Develops and implements corrective measures for database issues/problems found during monitoring.
Working experience of Unix and Linux operating systems
Clear understanding of Database Architecture, Operating Systems, Client/ Server Architecture, Middleware and Hardware (Servers, SAN, Network)

Strong troubleshooting and database performance tuning skills
Ability to diagnose problems and resolve issues across various tiers in the following a must :

6. Infiniband network and switches
7. ILOM Management
Good communication key to this role, and knowledge of ITIL as well
Proficient in high availability concepts, including database recovery procedures
Proficient in LINUX server hardware troubleshooting and hardware replacement activities
Experience with database engineering activities including:
Testing patch releases/DB upgrades and documenting for production release
Testing O/S upgrades of Exadata Linux software and documenting for production release
Creating/testing shell scripts for automation enhancements
Experience in total: 8-10 years for Lead Admin
5-8 Years for Senior Admin
