Carey is currently seeking an Outdoor Education teacher with a passion for sustainable practices and conservation to join the team in 2026.

Reporting to the Head of Outdoor Education, this role delivers the bespoke Outdoor Education programs to students from Prep to Year 10. Incorporating key curriculum, wellbeing, and linking these with the Carey values, this role is integral to the success of the program. This position integrates learning from the classroom to the real world
and promotes student connection, relationships and individualised learning.

This position is a full-time opportunity, commencing in Term 1, 2026 for a 12-month contract.

The role:

Assume end to end responsibility of the program within your portfolio, including program design, preparation and relevant documentation
Role model respect and consideration of the natural environment and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history
Support opportunities for all students to engage with the outdoor environment to enrich and strengthen capabilities such as leadership, resilience, confidence, social skills and teamwork
Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the program
What do I need to succeed?

Relevant Teaching qualifications
Demonstrated experience teaching Outdoor Education
A passion for sustainability and conservation
A proven ability to motivate and lead others effectively to meet their individual goals
A current Wilderness First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
