Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to be Responsible for the achievement of the daily plan by ensuring the effective use of labour and equipment and meeting System Standards.
This position is available for Day Shift (6am to 2:06pm), Monday to Friday.
Areas of Responsibility
Observes all safe working practices, adheres to all safety policies, and actively uses the safety connections, corrections, and critical risk surveys system
Train and support staff in use of safety correction and incident reporting system
Complete assigned corrective actions in a timely manner.
Conducts safety toolbox talks
Raises any machine / mobile equipment / procedural issues which may impact on quality to the Leading Hand
Understands how to operate all machinery / mobile equipment within area of leadership and assist of running as required. Troubleshoots line issues which may impact on quality
Promotes Climate take back through actively promoting reducing, reusing, and recycling processes
Supports Leading Hand, and fills in on a temporary basis
Organises team and supports the plan including breakdowns, organisation of meals & breaks to ensure continuous process operation
Escalates any operational issues to the Leading Hand
Escalates any operational maintenance issues to the maintenance department and logs MEX’s as required
Communicates clearly to next shift to ensure continuous process operation
Contributes to the training meeting, identifying skill gaps and planning actions to address skill development for team members
Qualifications and Experience Required
Basic computer skills including Word and Excel and other database programs (JDE) or a willingness to learn
Experience in a manufacturing or operator role is desirable
