Job Description
The Epstein School is seeking a School Counselor to join our Middle School faculty beginning in July 2026 and continuing on for the 2026-27 academic year and beyond.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for this position include: working with all stakeholders (children, parents, faculty, leadership, external professionals, etc.) to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of our students; engaging with students to develop and practice relational skills (conflict resolution, self-advocacy, executive functioning, self-regulation, mindfulness); partnering with colleagues across departments to provide education, proactive support, and intervention activities designed to give students the knowledge and tools for academic and interpersonal success; interfacing with parents regarding student’s needs; conducting observations, screenings, diagnostic assessments and evaluations as needed; performing other administrative duties as required.
Our counselors lead weekly guidance lessons in the classroom. Essential duties also include designing, implementing, and differentiating engaging lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners; managing classroom procedures through consistent, well-articulated expectations; and maintaining high expectations for student learning.
All employees are expected to proactively participate in community programs and events, as well performing other duties as assigned.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office as well as other relevant educational platforms
Education & Other Requirements:
Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in School Counseling or another relevant field. Applicants for this position must hold or be eligible for Georgia School Counseling certification or meet qualifications for reciprocity. Interested candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of School Counseling experience.
Physical Requirements: The employee must be able to:
Bend, crouch, walk through the school, and move from standing to sitting on the floor and back.
Use hands and fingers to reach, grab, write, handle, feel & control objects
See, talk and hear
Lift and carry objects including children up to 40 lbs.
Lightly clean and maintain equipment in the classroom
Work in a busy and occasionally noisy environment
About the Role:
FLSA: Exempt, Salaried, Benefits-Eligible
Workdays: Monday through Friday
Reports To: Middle School Principal
Salary: Commensurate with experience
