F&D Scene Changes Ltd. is seeking experienced Painters to add to our team at our shop in Calgary.
We are a specialty fabrication company with projects ranging from scenery for theatre, film and television and retail displays.
For this role, we are seeking skilled Painters and Paint Helper’s. Experience in the theatre or film is considered an asset. The successful candidate(s) must be a team player with skills in several areas of painting.
Candidates must read and speak English, be able to take direction and enjoy working independently and with others both in the shop and on site.
Duties include (but are not limited to): the preparation of paint surfaces; filling, and sanding and staining; knowledge and ability to prepare many types of surface materials; base painting; priming; finishing skills including brush, roller and airless spray applications; knowledge of applying and sealing oil based and
water based stains.
Colour theory, colour mixing, good drawing skills, knowledge of plastering, wall paper and vinyl hanging would be considered an above and beyond asset.
The successful candidate(s) must be fit and agile as the position demands a very physical work load and long hours. There will be working at heights, climbing ladders and scaffolding. Lift tickets and fall protection would be an asset but we will train if they are not current.
The wage is $30.46 with opportunity for advancement with experience.
