Role Summary
This role involves providing high-quality pastoral care services to clients and their families in their homes across the Canberra/ACT region. As a Pastoral Care Support Leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing spiritual care plans, providing emotional support, and training team members in areas related to pastoral care. Key Responsibilities
- Assess client/family's spiritual and emotional needs and develop a spiritual care plan to ensure their spiritual needs are acknowledged and documented.
- Provide spiritual and emotional support to clients and their families, liaising with relevant religious/spiritual leaders where appropriate.
- Offer prayerful spiritual/emotional support to team members and distribute relevant material, articles, and books as needed.
- Train team members in areas related to pastoral care, including boundaries, grief, and loss, faith, and hope, and other identified areas in conjunction with key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation, and Mission in Action.
- Strong understanding and experience of people living at home with life-limiting illness, including dementia, and the impact on carers and journeys of grief and bereavement.
- Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement, theological/Pastoral Care qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrated capacity to pastorally care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in need, highly developed communication skills, including listening, compassion, and empathy.
- Experience raising up, leading, and supporting a team, strong administrative and computer skills, and access to a car, Australian driver licence, and comprehensive car insurance.
