Key Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a daily selection of fresh desserts and pastries for the café display cabinet.
Maintain a consistent rotation of signature items including pastries, cakes, cookies, and dessert cups.
Ensure the display cabinet is fully stocked, visually appealing, and maintained throughout service hours.
Develop new dessert ideas and seasonal specials that complement the café’s coffee menu.
Improve and refine existing recipes to ensure excellent taste, presentation, and efficiency in production.
Manage daily baking schedules to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist with ordering pastry ingredients when required.
Ensure all desserts are prepared with consistency and attention to detail.

The pastry chef will typically prepare and maintain items such as:
Pistachio Croissants
Almond Croissants
Burnt Basque Cheesecake (sliced)
Chocolate Fudge Brownies
Biscoff Cheesecake Cups
Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Portuguese Custard Tarts (Pastel de Nata)
The chef is encouraged to introduce new items, seasonal specials, and creative improvements to the menu.
Requirements
Experience working as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a café, bakery, or restaurant
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and dessert preparation
Ability to work independently and manage daily pastry production
Passion for creativity and innovation in desserts
Strong attention to detail and presentation
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
