Emmer is a French and Italian-inspired bakery located in the heart of Harbord Village that specializes in sourdough bread and a wide variety of pastries. We’re growing and are looking for a full-time Bread/Pastry Assistant to join our team!
This position is perfect for a recent pastry school grad or someone looking to start their career in the industry. We’re looking for someone with a passion for baking who is eager to work alongside a team of like minded, tight-knit individuals. Requirements:
A strong work ethic and positive attitude
Ability to problem solve and adapt in an ever-changing environment
Time management
An attention to detail
Able to work independently and alongside a team
A passion for baking, with a natural curiosity and a willingness to learn
Sociable, with good communication skills
Minimum 1 year of baking/pastry experience, or a recent pastry school grad
Able to lift up to 25kgs, comfortable navigating a small workspace across multiple floors
Food Handler’s/WHIMIS Certification an asset.
Job duties include:
Shaping and baking bread products
Scaling ingredients for large recipes
Mixing and portioning doughs and batters
Putting final touches on a variety of products
Packaging pantry items
Maintaining a clean and neat workspace
To note, training will take place the month of November with the following availability required:
Wednesday-Sunday 7am-3pm (Subject to change based on business needs)
Job Type: Full-time
Part-time hours: approx 40 per week
Salary: $17.20-$19.00 per hour
