Position Responsibilities
• States name andamp; informs patient on where they are to be transported
• Uses proper body mechanics when positioning, lifting, turning, and ambulating patients
• Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment, wheelchairs and stretchers and ensure equipment is clean and in safe operating conditions
• Notifies nursing staff when patient is leaving the unit and when patient returns back to the unit
• Ensures that patient's chart is alongside when being transportedAssures all transports are completed within the time parameters assignments
• Collects all specimens and blood products and safety delivers to the receiving department
• Demonstrates a positive attitude when transporting andamp; speaking to patientsChecks all oxygen cylinders prior to transport to assure tanks are full and are in safe condition
• Correctly checks in and out of the patient transport system, and input the correct pager number when checking into work
• Maintains CPR Certification

Qualifications
• CPR required or must be obtained while in training.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service ability develop cooperative working relationship with other staff members and all other personnel.
• Ability to transport patients in a safe efficient and professional manner.
• Ability to operate portable radio.
• Skills in reading and writing Standard English text.
