ABOUT

As part of a Franciscan faith community, St. Joseph the Worker School shares in the mission of the Church to proclaim and build the Kingdom of God. Located in Richmond near the waterfront village of Steveston, the school is a vibrant learning centre that nurtures and develops the whole child; mind, body and spirit. Faith formation is integrated throughout the curriculum as we help each student to develop a personal relationship with God. At St. Joseph the Worker School, we guide each student to achieve their very best academically, and we also provide an extensive extracurricular program to develop the students’ gifts in athletics and in the arts. We strive to develop Christian leaders, responsible citizens, and life-long learners.

JOB DESCRIPTION

St. Joseph the Worker Elementary School is seeking a full time Physical Education teacher to join our team starting September 1, 2025. In addition to teaching P.E., the successful candidate will coordinate the school’s athletics programs by liaising with the parent and staff coaches, scheduling games and events, and ensuring all sports events are fully planned.

The ideal candidate is seeking a school where the staff work as a team to nurture and develop the whole child; mind, body and spirit. They will understand how to effectively manage students in the gym and during outdoor activities. They will have a passion for athletics, an ability to pass on their love of physical activity to their students, and a desire for each student to achieve their best regardless of natural ability. They will also show a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and an eagerness to participate in the school’s extracurricular programs and events. This is an opportunity for a teacher to be part of a supportive community and to build on the strong athletics foundation at St. Joseph the Worker School. For more information on the position, please contact Jamie Withers, Principal, at .
