Job Summary:
The People and Culture Intern will have the opportunity for exposure to various aspects of human resources and gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of HR functions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Organize and support Porter’s orientation program for new team members
Work with the talent team and People and Culture Coordinators to onboard all new team members and ensure all required documentation is complete prior to the team members’ first day
Collaborate with the talent team in all stages of the full-cycle recruitment process
Assist with the creation of change forms and various administrative tasks
Support the People and Culture Advisors with team member relations
Coordinate the team member resignation process, facilitate exit interviews and track the return of company equipment
Monitor the general People and Culture email inbox by providing a high level of customer service, and respond to daily inquiries related to company policies, programs and procedures in a timely manner
Partner with the Benefits team to gather new hire benefit enrolment forms, correspond with team members on outstanding forms and update systems as necessary
Maintain good working relationships with team members across various stations and departments
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

Qualifications:
Working toward a university Degree/certificate in Human Resources Management or equivalent education
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Outstanding attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
High level of organizational skills to meet all timelines
Ability to work in a highly confidential manner with all work related contacts and exercise a high degree of tact, discretion and professionalism
Ability to prioritize and multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced environment
Ability to work well independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google
