About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?
As a People Coordinator at John Holland, you will play a vital role in supporting the HR team and ensuring the smooth running of various HR functions. You will be responsible for maintaining employee records, assisting with HR administration, and providing support on employee relations matters. Additionally, you will contribute to HR projects and initiatives, collaborate with colleagues, and help create a positive work environment.

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;
Managing employee records: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, contracts, evaluations, and training records.
Supporting HR administration: Assisting with various HR administrative tasks such as processing employee documentation, updating HR systems, and generating reports.
Providing employee relations support: Acting as a point of contact for employee inquiries and offering guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
Assisting with benefits and compensation: Responding to employee questions regarding benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave entitlements. Collaborating with the HR team to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Coordinating training and development activities: Assisting in the planning and execution of employee training programs and development initiatives.
Supporting HR projects and initiatives: Assisting with various HR projects, such as performance management, employee engagement programs, diversity inclusion initiatives, and policy implementation.
Ensuring compliance and policy adherence: Ensuring compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;
A solid understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws is essential. Prior experience or education in human resources is beneficial.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with employees, managers, and HR teams. This includes the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and convey information accurately.
Excellent organisational and time management skills are important to handle multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure accuracy in maintaining employee records and processing paperwork.
The ability to identify issues, analyze situations, and propose solutions is valuable in addressing employee inquiries, resolving conflicts, and supporting HR projects.
As a People Coordinator, you will have access to sensitive employee information. Demonstrating confidentiality, discretion, and maintaining the highest level of integrity is crucial.
Providing excellent customer service to employees is essential. Prior experience in a customer-facing role or a strong customer service mindset is beneficial.
Proficiency in using HRIS software, MS Office applications (such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and other relevant HR tools is desirable.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborate with colleagues, and build positive relationships is important in supporting HR initiatives and fostering a positive work environment.
