Overview of the Role
The People and Culture Consultant is a key member of the Pivot team and reports to a Principal Consultant. This is a full-time permanent position. In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients and industries, partnering with leaders to diagnose workplace challenges and design practical strategies that support organizational success.
This role is ideal for an experienced HR Generalist/Business Partner who enjoys consulting, problem-solving, and tackling complex people issues. You bring strong experience in at least three of the following areas:
Learning & development
Talent acquisition
Employee relations
Labour relations
Workplace investigations
Total compensation
Culture and engagement
What You'll Do
You will partner closely with clients and colleagues to provide strategic and practical HR support, including:
Serving as a trusted HR advisor to leaders across multiple industries
Supporting clients in areas such as organizational development, workforce strategy, performance management and employee relations
Managing complex and sensitive workplace issues, including bullying and harassment, conflict resolution, progressive discipline and terminations
Conducting workplace investigations, preparing investigation reports and providing clear recommendations
Advising leaders on day-to-day HR issues and employment legislation
Designing and facilitating engaging leadership and HR training programs
Supporting client recruitment processes from job posting to interviews and reference checks
Developing and reviewing HR policies, procedures and employee manuals
Analyzing HR programs and recommending improvements to strengthen organizational effectiveness
Collaborating with the Pivot team on projects and initiatives that support our growing client base
What You Bring
We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in HR consulting or generalist practice, specifically:
A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in multiple functional areas
A Degree or Diploma in Human Resources
CPHR designation, or active progress toward obtaining it, is considered a strong asset
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and WorkSafeBC guidelines
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex HR concepts into clear, practical guidance
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment
Collaborative and personable, with a high degree of accountability and professionalism
Skilled at navigating complex and sensitive workplace situations with discretion and sound judgment
