The Opportunity



Lions Eye Institute has an exciting new opportunity for a motivated and well-established People & Culture Coordinator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a generalist role that encompasses a range of tasks to support employment related People & Culture activities, business improvements and projects.

The successful incumbent will also partner closely with frontline supervisors to provide support regarding employee related matters across the full employee life cycle.



Key responsibilities include:



Act as the first point of contact for Human Resources related enquiries or requests and escalate as appropriate including monitoring and management of the People & Culture inbox
Support the P&C Advisor and Director, People & Culture with recruitment and on-boarding process including such tasks as phone screening, interviewing, reference checks, collating new starter paperwork, preparing contracts and arranging on-boarding.
Inductions of new staff and managing onboarding and probation reviews.
Assist the P&C Advisor with the separation procedure and exit interviews for terminated employees.
Process, verify and maintain documentation relating to People & Culture activities such as recruitment, employment, student placements, visitors, scholarships, training and performance evaluations.
Preparing and issuing employment contracts and confirmation of employment letters to staff.
Preparing and issuing employment letters relating to contract variations including changes to FTE/working hours, salary increases, extensions, flexible work/WFH arrangements, bonuses, probation and others where required.
Interpret and provide information relating to P&C policies, procedures and standards to new and existing employees under the guidance of the P&C Advisor.
Assisting with cyclical HR processes, monitoring, reporting and follow up on probation reviews, end of contract expiry and performance reviews.
Tracking expiry dates of visas, police clearances and working with children checks.
Promote staff awareness of LEI HR initiatives such as the EAP, performance reviews, staff development and the Staff Benefits Programme.
Manage and maintain the LEI Staff Benefits Programme.
Create relevant HR related posters, brochures and graphics for internal communications.
Create blog posts for employee intranet site.


Essential Criteria:



Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or other relevant discipline.
Experience working within a generalist HR team environment in a support capacity.
High level of computing literacy(Microsoft office suite, internet & email).
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work with initiative, autonomously and as part of a team.
Well-developed organisational, time mangement, multi-tasking and planning skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal professionally, maintain confidentiality and be discreet in all dealings.
Commitment to customer service to employees, management and external stake holders and ability to engage and maintain relationships.
Proactive, team orientated and positive approach to work.
