The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with leaders and contribute to building a high-performing, accountable organization.
The People & Culture Partner (HRBP) partners with leaders and employees to support business priorities through effective people practices, disciplined execution, and strong operational ownership.
This role acts as the primary point of contact for assigned client groups, providing end-to-end People & Culture support across the employee lifecycle. The People & Culture Partner combines hands-on delivery of core processes with the ability to identify needs, build practical solutions, and drive initiatives through to completion.
The People & Culture Partner builds trusted relationships by providing practical guidance, ensuring follow-through, and using data and insights to inform decisions.
This role is best suited for someone who takes ownership, follows through consistently, and is comfortable balancing both execution and business advisory capability.
Location of Position
This is a hybrid role based in our Burnaby, BC office.
Specifically, the People & Culture Partner will:
Business Partnership
Partner with leaders to understand business priorities and support team effectiveness.
Provide practical guidance on people-related matters including performance, engagement, and team structure.
Act as a primary point of contact for employees within assigned client groups, providing timely and practical guidance on People & Culture programs, policies, and day-to-day questions.
Build trust through responsiveness, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through.
Partner closely with the Manager, Talent Acquisition to support hiring within assigned client groups, ensuring alignment between business needs, candidate selection, and overall team effectiveness.
Ownership of People Processes & Systems
Own the execution of core People & Culture processes across assigned client groups.
Ensure processes are delivered on time, with accuracy and consistency.
Maintain strong data integrity within HR systems, including BambooHR, and use systems and reporting to track progress and drive accountability.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve and scale processes.
Talent & Performance Management
Support and operationalize performance management, talent reviews, development planning, and onboarding.
Ensure new hires are set up for success by partnering with leaders to establish clear expectations, including structured onboarding plans, and tracking progress through key milestones.
Ensure onboarding plans and early check-ins are completed and provide visibility on progress and risks.
Follow through on agreed actions and ensure completion.
Contribute to building strong leadership capability and team effectiveness.
Ensure strong handoff and continuity from hiring through onboarding and early employee success in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
Workforce Planning & Organizational Effectiveness
Support workforce planning by identifying capability needs aligned to business priorities.
Partner on organizational structure, role clarity, and accountability, and identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness.
Employee Experience & Engagement
Support engagement initiatives and ensure action plans are clearly defined and executed.
Identify themes impacting engagement, retention, and performance, and ensure alignment and communication across teams.
Data, Insights & Reporting
Analyze people data, including engagement, turnover, and performance trends, to generate insights and support decision-making. Use data to improve outcomes and strengthen accountability.
Compensation & Talent Programs
Support compensation decisions with consideration for internal equity and market alignment. Contribute to calibration discussions and broader People & Culture programs.
Program Delivery & Project Ownership
Identify people and team needs and translate them into practical solutions.
Design and deliver initiatives such as training, team effectiveness sessions, and development programs. Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to define requirements, coordinate delivery, and ensure successful implementation.
Support broader People & Culture initiatives, including preparation of materials such as town halls, presentations, and communications.
Bring structure, ownership, and follow-through to all assigned projects.
Change & Organizational Initiatives
Actively support and help drive organizational and system-related changes, including rollout of new tools, processes, and initiatives.
Partner with leaders to ensure changes are effectively communicated, adopted, and sustained. Identify risks, anticipate impacts, and support teams through transition.
Employee Relations & Compliance
Support employee relations matters with sound judgment and consistency. Provide guidance to both employees and leaders on workplace concerns, ensuring issues are addressed early and appropriately.
Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and internal policies.

Core processes run smoothly with no gaps or missed actions.
Data is accurate, accessible, and used to inform decisions.

Identified needs are translated into practical solutions and delivered end-to-end with minimal oversight.
Agreed actions are consistently followed through to completion without requiring escalation or prompting.
What you Bring:
Education and Experience
5-8+ years of progressive HR experience, including business partnering and advisor work.
Experience supporting both leaders and employees in a growing or evolving organization.
Strong execution and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at a team level.
Experience working with HR systems and maintaining data integrity.
Solid understanding of employment practices and legislation in Canada, with exposure to the United States considered an asset.
