About the Role

As a Performance Management Specialist in our team, you’ll play a key role in helping to deliver recurring and bespoke financial performance analysis and insights to help inform Retail, Commercial and Group Executives. Your role interfaces with a multidisciplinary range of stakeholders including Group and Divisional Finance teams, Divisional CFOs, Pricing, Risk and Investor Relations. This opportunity supports the development of a strong network and business development contextualisation due to the breath & diversity of work that this role will be exposed to.

What will your day look like?

As a Performance Management Specialist, you will be responsible for:

Analysing Retail and Commercial Divisional financial performance in Australia, including detailed driver information to help optimise business performance by identifying actionable insights

Driving the content and timely completion of the Divisions’ financial leadership team updates to enable a strong understanding of key financial performance drivers, thematic risks, and opportunities

Preparing briefing materials for Divisional executives ahead of internal and external engagements

Engaging with Divisional finance teams to support strategic planning/outlook development and formation of recommendations that enable improvements to profitability, both short and longer term;

External performance and financial reporting benchmarking versus peers (established and emerging)

Assisting Investor Relations and relevant Executives with completion of Half and Full Year External Performance reporting

Supporting process improvement initiatives targeting uplift to our financial forecasting, planning and reporting capabilities

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Knowledge of how banks operate and the drivers of financial performance including funding, risk, and capital together with the individual factors shaping revenues including net interest margin

Strong analytical skills including the ability to gather and assess multiple sets of data, model, and test hypotheses for different scenarios, drawing accurate conclusions and forming recommendations

Deep coordination and communication skills including the ability to capture messages succinctly and explain clearly to senior executives in both written and verbal presentations.

An ability to cut-through ancillary items and noise to find key areas for decision making
