Job Description
Your daily duties will also consist of providing palliative care, helping with lifts and transfers, and performing range of motion exercises. Prior experience with individuals with conditions such as amputations, visual impairments, incontinence, speech impairments, and quad/paraplegic care is highly desirable.
The individual should be comfortable with preparing and cooking healthy meals on a daily basis, with blending food and assisting with feeding. It will be your role to ensure a safe and clean environment, offering both companionship and emotional support to the client. Experience in handling mobility and transfers with an ability to lift up to 40kg is a prerequisite.
You should have significant experience (1-2 years) working with a non-verbal person who is wheelchair-bound. Your ability to work independently and make critical decisions based on a client's care plan or history is vital. Clear communication with the client's family regarding care direction and reporting the client's progress is also an essential part of the job.
A valid driver's license is a necessity, as the role may require using your own car. This is a live-out position, and the desired work schedule is from the middle of the day, Monday through Friday as one shift ( 35 hours) and weekend Saturday and Sunday ( 14 hours). The role could start immediately.
