- Teaching and Learning:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Teach advanced concepts in English literature, language, and composition, incorporating a range of instructional methods and resources.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and critical thinking.
- Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that reflect the curriculum and meet the needs of students.
- Regularly review and update curriculum content to ensure it remains relevant and effective in promoting student learning.
- Student Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and conduct assessments, quizzes, and exams to evaluate student performance and understanding.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their writing, comprehension, and analytical skills.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress and provide regular reports to parents/guardians.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures to maintain a disciplined and respectful learning environment.
- Address and manage student behavior issues effectively, ensuring a productive classroom atmosphere.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in English education and teaching practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, develop teaching strategies, and contribute to the overall improvement of the department.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding academic progress, behavioral issues, and other relevant matters.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school meetings as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
- Extracurricular Activities:
- Support and participate in extracurricular activities related to English, such as literary clubs, writing competitions, and drama productions.
- Encourage students to engage in creative and critical thinking activities beyond the classroom.
• Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant teaching certification is also required.
- Certification: Teaching certification or licensure as per local educational regulations.
- Experience: Prior teaching experience in English at the relevant grade levels is preferred.
