Job Description
Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a rigorous and engaging curriculum for Psychology courses, aligning with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
Instruction: Deliver effective and interactive instruction in Psychology to students at the senior secondary level, utilizing a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
Assessment: Design and administer assessments to measure student understanding and mastery of psychological concepts, providing timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
Subject Expertise: Demonstrate a strong command of psychological theories, principles, and research methods, integrating current research and real-world examples into instruction to enrich students' learning experiences.
Critical Thinking: Foster critical thinking, inquiry, and analytical skills among students, encouraging them to apply psychological concepts to analyze and evaluate human behavior and phenomena.
Ethical and Cultural Awareness: Promote ethical awareness, cultural sensitivity, and respect for diversity in psychological research and practice, encouraging students to consider the ethical implications of psychological principles and interventions.
Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, with clear expectations for behavior, participation, and academic integrity.
Professional Development: Stay current with developments in the field of Psychology, participate in professional development opportunities, and collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices and curriculum.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field.
Teaching certification or licensure in Psychology or Secondary Education required.
Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level, with a focus on Psychology.
Strong knowledge of psychological theories, research methods, and ethical principles.
Experience integrating technology into instruction and utilizing digital resources effectively.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
