Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lacey Drug Company. In this role, you will assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy. Your contributions will be vital in helping us maintain high standards of service and patient satisfaction.
Job description
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications to patients
- Prepare and package medications for distribution
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Enter prescription information into the computer system accurately
- Answer phone calls and address customer inquiries
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Follow proper medication administration procedures
- Adhere to medical terminology and abbreviations used in pharmacy settings
- Handle critical care medications with precision and attention to detail
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred
- Certification as a pharmacy technician is required
- Previous experience working in a hospital or acute care setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with pharmacy software systems
