This is a full-time fixed term role through to June 2025, working 40 hours over 5 days Monday to Friday. Work hours are 0800-1630.
Based at Burwood Hospital, in our Older Person's Mental Health Inpatients.
It is essential that you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate and NZ working rights.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
Older Persons Health and Rehabilitation is a division of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha (CDHB) based at Burwood. The Burwood Physiotherapy Team is made up of 65 Physiotherapists and 15 Physiotherapy Assistants split into 3 teams including a Musculoskeletal team, a Neurology Team, Older Persons and Older Persons Mental Health team. Together with your colleagues you will be responsible for carrying out effective patient assessments and formulating goal-based treatment plans which facilitate improving function and safe discharges. There are 4 Older Persons Rehab wards and 2 Older Persons Mental Health ( OPMH) wards in the OPH cluster.
These OPMH wards have their own gym where exercise ( including relaxation and Tai Chi) classes are run. You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients admitted to the 2 wards. You will work alongside a full time Physiotherapy assistant and a Physiotherapist who is based in the day clinic.
