Piano and Strings Teacher (Piano Cover + Group & Private Strings)
Location: Lidcombe, Sydney
Start Date: 24/7/25
Viva Music Academy in Lidcombe is seeking punctual, professional, and reliable instrumental teachers to join our team. We are looking for educators in piano, violin, viola, and cello who can confidently teach students of all ages and levels, and who are comfortable working within the expectations of structured school environments (e.g. Catholic/independent schools).
Current Vacancies
Piano Teacher – Cover required from August on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 3:30–8:00pm (placement cover between 4 August and 26 September).
Violin Teacher – General availability with demand especially on Saturdays.
Baby Strings Group Instructor (Violin/Viola/Cello) – Must be able to run a play-based group class for 3-5 year olds on Tuesdays or Fridays from 1:00–1:45pm, and teach beginner theory alongside.

Viva Music Academy is a structured, student-focused studio in Lidcombe offering individual and group music tuition. We support students preparing for AMEB and Suzuki exams and run regular performance events. Our teaching culture values professionalism, warmth, and clear communication with students and families.

We’re seeking teachers who:
Are punctual, responsible, and presentable
Can follow structured lesson plans and support student goal-setting
Are comfortable working in a team and following guidelines similar to those in school induction handbooks (e.g. respectful dress, communication, and expectations)
Communicate clearly with students and parents
Requirements
Strong teaching skills and confidence preparing students for AMEB/Suzuki exams
Excellent communication and reliability
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Active ABN
Highly Regarded
AMusA, LMusA, or Bachelor of Music
Experience in music schools or formal studio settings
Afternoon/weekend availability
Employment Details
Casual role, $40–$60 per hour depending on experience
In-person lessons at our Lidcombe studio
Friendly, supportive team environment
