Job Description
A graduate Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years of Experience in Piping & Layout Design activities will carry out the plant piping layout designs and related activities.
Requirement:
A Piping Design Engineer will be responsible for following;
• Plant & Modules Layout arrangement to optimize space and materials
• Able to read and und understand the P&IDs and Process diagrams
• Plant & Modules Layout optimization for Operation and Maintenance purposes
• Piping & Material Requisition using automation tools from 3D data
• Design & modeling (3D)
• Conversant with piping components and their application
• Strong Knowledge of Piping Material Specifications, Valves and Valve datasheets and utility of valves
• Manage Projects and Libraries with 3D Design Tools and Material Requisition tool.
• Isometric drawings preparation, Extract and check isometrics.(layout) using AutoCad
• Prepare Plot plans, nozzle orientation, platform drawings, Structure details and GAD'S
• Preparation of the Equipment and Piping component datasheet as per the Codes and Standards
• Knowledge of materials and capability to select alternate materials as needed
• Coordinate with Process, Civil/Structural, Mechanical and Electrical & Instrumentation groups,
• Exposure to Design codes and standards applicable to onshore / offshore Oil and Gas industry. Should be capable of developing and coordinating activities for complex on-shore and off-shore plants.
• Able to perform basic mechanical calculations such as Pipe thickness, reinforcement calculations, Torque calculations for valves, Bolt area and flange calculations
• Meticulous attention to detail with getting design converted to Detailed drawing.
• Technical alignment of piping system and supplier follow up.
• Should be able to provide technical clarifications on Mechanical and Piping aspects to the Construction team at site
• Carry out independent checks and reviews.
• Ensure design outputs meet health and safety/environmental compliance.
• Carry out Piping stress analysis using CASESAR-II software under various operating and Design scenarios.
• Able to perform flange analysis and Nozzle Load analysis using CAESAR-II software
• Should be highly proficient in Static Piping stress analysis Dynamic analysis would be an advantage
• Awareness of various types of Pipe supports, special piping supports and their analysis
• Knowledge of engineered Piping components.
• Experience in ASME Codes such as ASME B 31.3, ASME 31.4, ASME B 6.5, ASME B 16.+, ASME B 16.34 etc.
Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years with Oil and Gas industry with added advantage of Upstream and Offshore facilities .
• Fluent English written and oral communication / interpersonal skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and working collaboratively with the -other teams.
• Good knowledge of piping design techniques, material and piping codes / standards
• Proficient in Piping Stress Analysis . Certification is advantage . Able to anlayse in CAESAR-II software
• Experience with Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• API certification is an advantage.
• Experienced in Piping Design as per ASME standards.
• Standard tools required are : AutoCAD 2D, PDMS, Smart plant, Naviswork
• Hands-on Experience with AutoCAD in developing Plant Layouts / Main Piping Layouts/ Pipe support.
Good to have skills:
• Exposure to project planning software/tools.
• Experience with Share Point for document management.
