Compensation Details:

Product Owner 18 : Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location:

Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, Laval, Calgary, Halifax, or Vancouver.

Team Overview:

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:
Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.
The Platform Owner role for the People & Culture/HR squad, reporting to the Director of Digital Delivery, will be a key player in establishing and managing EDC’s People & Culture platforms. This role will co-drive our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transformation and partner closely with the Finance team to unify platforms, modernize our digital capabilities, and deliver a seamless employee experience. This includes participating in our ERP Request for Proposal (RFP) process and leading the HR ERP implementation, as well as managing existing HR platforms. The Platform Owner will be supported by a dedicated squad.
What you will be doing:

ERP RFP and Implementation: Take a leading role in the HR stream of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for selecting an ERP system, and influence enterprise-wide change, from capability scoping to vendor selection.
Platform Management: Manage and maintain existing HR platforms, ensuring they align with compliance, security, and privacy needs and policies.
User Management: Create and maintain a user management strategy, including access configuration.
Change Champion: Promote and facilitate the adoption of new tools, monitor uptake, and help create change plans to increase adoption.
Architecture: With the Architecture Owner (AO), ensure and oversee adequate architecture for HR platforms, including development, integration, and security.
Platform Capability Development: In partnership with the Business, develop features and stories to build out platform capabilities for business requirements. Balance technology sustainment and improvements with business needs.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor HR platforms and integrations to ensure optimal functioning. Implement changes to enhance system performance and user experience.
Stakeholder Management: Work closely with business and technology leaders and other groups to ensure HR platforms align with corporate strategy, resources are allocated efficiently, risks are mitigated, outcomes are achieved, and benefits are realized.
Training: In partnership with the Product Owner, provide training information to the training team so that appropriate material and workshops can be developed.
What we are looking for:

Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years’ hands-on experience in Product Management or Platform Management.
Proven experience with ERP systems and HR platforms.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to motivate the team and clearly communicate platform vision.
Technical and Business Knowledge: Must be able to speak to both business and technology teams and act as a translator between them.
Comfort with Establishing New Platforms: Must be comfortable establishing new platforms and governance.
Leadership in Technology Implementations: Proven experience leading large technology implementations from initiation (discovery), through design, development, and implementation.

3 years’ experience with ERP systems and HR platforms.
Experience establishing new teams and governance structures.
Bilingual in both official languages of Canada (English and French).
