Continued business growth at John West (Contractors) Limited has enabled the creation of an additional role.

We are currently looking for a General Plumber/multi skilled Technician to join the established team within the Plumbing and Heating department. You’ll be working on diverse residential projects, refurbishments, wet room installations and bathroom refurbishments, to resolving minor defect issues within a customer facing role. John West (Contractors) Limited provide services in buildings maintenance, mechanical and electrical, construction, refurbishment and facilities management. Having gained an enviable reputation working within North Somerset, Somerset, Sedgemoor, Bristol and Mendip area, the standards of John West (Contractors) Limited are very high and the team are expected to deliver excellent workmanship in an efficient and professional manner at all times.

As a General Plumber/ multi skilled Technician you’ll take responsibility for a range of allocated daily tasks within your geographical area (up to 50 miles from our office in Weston-Super-Mare), ensuring work is completed on time and to the highest possible standards, whilst operating in a professional and friendly manner to deliver high standards of customer service on behalf of our customers.

Your responsibilities and duties will include, although not be limited to;

· Working to job descriptions for assigned work and taking a hands-on approach to a wide variety of jobs including Sanitary ware replacement, Brassware replacement, bathroom and kitchen refurbishments, wet room installations.

Installation of wall tiling.

· Gathering work schedules and updating job progress on the in-house system using a handheld mobile device, ensuring up-to-date each day

· Ensuring materials and machinery for jobs are organised with head office colleagues via the PDA.

· Efficiently communicating updates on jobs to customers and head office (via mobile devise/phone).

· Attending head office Tool box meetings.

· Full understanding of safe working practices and relevant legislation to ensure the health and safety of yourself, colleagues, customers and the public on each job.

To be considered for this General Plumber/multi skilled Technician role you will have the following experience, skills and attributes.

· A complete apprenticeship period, or a City and Guilds/NVQ level 2 type

· qualification in General Plumbing

· A minimum of 2 years Plumbing experience.

· Proactive and flexible approach towards tasks using a variety of trade skills.

· Professional and diplomatic with a helpful manner and positive can-do attitude

· Superb communication and customer facing skills

· Dedication and passion to complete projects within tight deadlines to a high standard

· Possess own hand tools

· Basic IT skills to receive and submit work updates

· Full UK driving licence

· A valid CSCS Card would be advantageous

Due to the nature of the work undertaken by the business, successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory DBS Check.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Flexibility will be required to meet business and customer needs.

Location: Head Office located in Weston-Super-Mare but position is predominantly field based covering projects in the South West of England, particularly around Weston-Super-Mare, Bridgwater, Taunton, Bristol and Bath although not limited to.

Pay: Up to £38,000.00 per year
