THE JOB: Portfolio Liaison, Pregnancy & Newborn Care (24 Month Contract)
The starting salary range falls within the minimum to mid-point of the salary range.
Starting Salary Range: $90,640- $113,300
The Portfolio Liaison, Pregnancy & Newborn Care leads and executes the pregnancy and newborn care portfolio as delegated by the Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives. Working collaboratively with physicians, interprofessional care providers, Doctors of BC staff, the Ministry of Health, Health Authorities, and other system partners, the Liaison will be accountable for the development of a strategy to coordinate pregnancy and newborn care supports across the JCCs and Doctors of BC in support of the health system priorities including: develop a physician engagement strategy to support Perinatal Services BC’s refresh of the Maternity Services Strategy; develop and nurture partnerships with key partners to support alignment and coordination of pregnancy and newborn care; coordinate the pregnancy and newborn care work of the JCCs and Doctors of BC to reduce silos, enhance communication, enable mutual support and demonstrate collective impact across the organization; and lead the implementation and evaluation of work plan initiatives.
The successful candidate will have strong influence, facilitation, and communication skills. They’ll also understand change management strategies to ensure progress, alignment, and meaningful outcomes across the portfolios.

WHAT YOU BRING
Master’s degree and/or recognized professional designation in related field, and up to eight years of progressive and related experience OR an equivalent level of related work experience in-lieu of post-secondary education.
Knowledge of BC’s health care system and specifically pregnancy and newborn care, including issues and trends
Experience working in the pregnancy and newborn care space with diverse health care providers, health authorities, and government is an asset
Experience in quality improvement methodologies, collective impact, or facilitating networks is an asset
Public engagement training, project management and change management training and experience is an asset.
Detailed knowledge of health regions, current issues and trends is required, and experience working with health authorities, facilities and physicians is preferred
Comfortable receiving nominal direction from department leadership regarding strategy and related objectives and activities on initiatives and projects.
Experience leading complex and adaptive change, including strategic planning, implementing and coordinating provincial initiatives
Strong problem-solving skills at both operational and strategic level with ability to integrate knowledge from several disciplines or areas of expertise
Considerable research & analytical experience in completing projects and initiatives
Proven ability to work with diverse groups with differing interests and motivations, with activities and recommendations having a wide-ranging impact on client group
Successful in working highly autonomously, and accesses guidance only when critically required from directors and executives.
Effective communication and presentation skills, as well as strong written skills including proven ability to develop clear, concise and comprehensive reports and other documents.
Experience with budgetary responsibilities including budget development and monitoring.
Excellent computer skills required including word processing, spreadsheets, and project management software; as well as demonstrated proficiency with Mac/PC based software, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Travel within BC may be required in the role, up to once per month, or as needed.
