Part-Time or Full-Time Exempt Position
8am to 4pm (plus weekly meetings and occasional events) with part-time options. School follows the Seattle Public School calendar for breaks/holidays.
Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications and is starting at $25,000 per year for a part-time role (3 days/week or equivalent); benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance) are available.

The North Seattle French School is looking for a preschool teacher’s assistant who:
● is interested in working in a bilingual French/English setting (experience working in bilingual schools is a plus)
● has experience with children aged 3-5
● enjoys collaborating on classroom activities and teaching practices
● is a true team player
● is adaptable, flexible, innovative and creative
● is open to participate in professional development
● Is a strong communicator, ideally with proficiency in both French and English
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Working with the students individually and in groups as needed
● Helping implement curriculum under the guidance of the lead teacher
● Helping teachers prepare the materials and set up the classroom
● Ensuring children’s safety
● Supervising the children on the field trips and in free play, gym time, and outdoor play
● Working as a member of the team to develop themes and activities for the classroom
● Leading the classroom activities or lessons when needed
● Foster a nurturing environment for children to explore and learn so that each student can reach his/her fullest academic, intellectual, social, emotional and physical potential

Qualifications
The Teacher's Assistant must have a good knowledge of children’s development and school programs. Previous experience in education is a plus. In addition the teacher’s assistant must have:
● strong organizational skills
● excellent communication skills, ideally in both French and English
● strong classroom management skills
● the ability to work individually and as a member of a team
● ability to both follow directions and take initiative
● a passion to provide the best education to all children
● a can-do attitude and attention to detail
The following are a plus, but not required:
○ experience in a bilingual school
○ certificate in Early Childhood or a related field
○ MERIT qualifications to work in a licensed preschool classroom including First Aid/CPR certification (if not already held, will be asked to complete prior to work with students)
