Key Responsibilities
Deliver Preschool focused curriculum integrating Montessori methods, best practices, and LifeREADY skill development in a clear and consistent way.
Plan and implement purposeful learning experiences using a Scope of the Day model to ensure structure, developmental alignment, and daily coverage of essential skill areas.
Participate fully in all staff responsibilities including recess duty, meetings, performances, and school events, serving as a professional ambassador for the school.
Support student development through age-appropriate formative assessment and evaluation strategies that align with early years best practices.
Assist with and reinforce toilet learning and hygiene habits in a developmentally appropriate and respectful manner when students require support.
Communicate consistently with families using TalkingPoints and regular in-person updates, maintaining a strong home-school partnership from the first day of school.
Create a safe, calm, and inviting classroom environment that supports independence, exploration, self-regulation, and early academic growth.
Identify individual learning needs through observation and documentation and provide differentiated instruction and support accordingly.
Reaching out to support agencies in consultation with the office to help families access developmental supports.
Work with parents to help them understand school readiness expectations, support routines at home, and build confidence in the transition to formal schooling.
Maintain accurate developmental records, portfolios, and learning documentation to support school reporting and future transitions.
Collaborate with Primary staff to ensure alignment in routines, language, and expectations for a seamless academic and social transition.
