Description UKG is looking for a Database Administrator who would be responsible for administration and monitoring of MSSQL server and involved in designing, developing and configuring reporting solutions for dashboards, scorecards, scheduled report and ad-hoc queries. The candidate will support development teams to design and optimize schema design and queries. The individual should have good communication, documentation, analytical and debugging skills. The ideal candidate will also have some experience in public cloud environments such as GCP, and will be comfortable working with cloud-based databases as well as with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and Terraform.
• 7 to 10 Years of Experience – working as DBA
• Configuration and troubleshooting MSSQL replication, log shipping
• Planning and implementing high availability and disaster recovery
• Reviewing SQL scripts and migration
• Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
• Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLA
• Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests
• Partnering closely with development teams for design and optimization
• Some knowledge of devops practices and usage of tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins and Terraform
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tooling such as NewRelic or Honeycomb is a plus
Qualifications Qualifications:
• Knowledge of advance TSQL statements and procedures, functions in SQL server
• Knowledge of SSRS (SQL server reporting services), indexes, index management and statistics
• Experience in high availability and disaster recovery options for MSSQL server
• Experience in maintaining a database on cloud-based application
• Should be able to anticipate issues and resolve data problems
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
