Job Description
This role will initiate and lead the development and delivery of Transport system plans and development of subsequent investment cases.
A key role for this position will be to provide leadership in the development and delivery of the Auckland Level Crossing Removal Business Case for the Western Line. This involves the investment case and route protection for 21 crossings involving working with teams across Auckland Council, the Transport Industry and the Community.
Transport System plans will need to address long term strategic transport system outcomes, considering existing assets, growth and development and changing level of service demand. These plans will inform ATs long-term investment needs and create a prioritized pipeline of investment and also assisting to lead the investment cases for level crossing removals programme in Auckland.
Key Tasks include:
Support and lead key aspects of the development of area plans, feasibility studies for the expansion/improvement of infrastructure and services to address gaps identified in the transport system.
Collaborate with members of the Transport Investment team, as well as other teams across Auckland Transport.
Gather network intelligence and analytics to develop evidence-based customer centric responses.
Oversight and review of work produced by professional advisors and consultants to ensure robust process and buy-in from stakeholders.

A relevant tertiary qualification in transport planning, urban planning, project management or related discipline
Extensive experience developing long term investment plans ideally transport, public sector experience preferred, in coordinating and managing the delivery of major projects
Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of cross- departmental/agency or complex projects
Minimum five years to ten years experience in feasibility studies, business case development, role
A good understand and knowledge transport planning urban planning, local and central government policies, legislation business case processes relating to transport.
