We are now seeking a Print Designer-Homewares with strong trend intuition and diverse handwriting capability to join our talented Living design team.
What you’ll be doing
As a Print Designer for Homewares, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, interpreting, and implementing global print and pattern trends. You will work collaboratively with our Living Home designers and merchandise teams to grow sales through visually appealing and customer-focused products. The ideal candidate will be a Print Designer specialising in homewares, with proven experience delivering high-quality print and packaging designs, particularly within categories such as candles or related lifestyle products.
Key Responsibilities include:
Trend Identification: Stay ahead of global print and pattern trends to ensure our products are always on the cutting edge.
Collaborative Design: Work closely with Living Home designers and merchandise teams to create coordinated prints, graphics, and final art that reflect Kmart’s unique handwriting.
Commercial Focus: Develop prints that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also drive incremental sales.
Print Library Management: Catalogue and manage our print library and assets, ensuring easy access and organization.
Effective Communication: Articulate design concepts through both visual and verbal communication, ensuring clarity and alignment with brand goals.
Adaptability: Learn and adapt to various areas within Living Home, showcasing your versatility and willingness to grow.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
5+ years’ experience as a Print Designer within homewares or lifestyle product design.
A standout portfolio demonstrating elevated, trend-led, commercial print and packaging design across a range of aesthetics and age groups.
Advanced trend forecasting capability and the ability to translate insights into compelling, market-ready designs.
Strong handwriting versatility — from bold graphics to refined patterns and everything in between.
Trend-led packaging expertise: Ability to design elevated, contemporary packaging with a strong understanding of emerging global packaging trends, materials, finishes, and visual languages.
Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to work seamlessly with designers, product developers, and merchandise partners.
Strong organisational ability in managing print assets and design documentation.
Outstanding visual and verbal communication when presenting concepts and design rationale.
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
