About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the dual role of Product Owner & Cost Manager for our data solutions. This role requires a unique blend of strong Agile methodology expertise, data proficiency, and excellent communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution.
Responsibilities:
Product Owner:
• Agile Leadership: Champion Agile principles and methodologies within the data team, leading sprint ceremonies (planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives), and driving continuous improvement.
• Product Vision & Roadmap: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into a clear product vision and roadmap for our data solutions.
• User Story Creation & Prioritization: Elicit, define, and prioritize user stories, ensuring clear acceptance criteria and aligning them with the overall product vision.
• Sprint Execution & Management: Facilitate the execution of sprints, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of priorities and deadlines.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the business and the data team, providing regular summaries and readouts on project progress and key decisions.
• Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data experience to provide insights and recommendations to inform product decisions and improvements.
Cost Manager:
• Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for data projects, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and tracking spending against planned costs.
• Cost Analysis & Optimization: Conduct cost analysis for data projects, identify cost optimization opportunities, and recommend strategies for resource allocation and budget management.
• Financial Reporting: Provide clear and concise financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting project costs, ROI, and potential cost savings.
• Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure that data projects adhere to company data governance policies and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
Product Ownership:
• Proven experience as a Product Owner in an Agile environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead sprint ceremonies, facilitate effective communication, and drive product development.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Data Proficiency:
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling, ELT processes, and data quality.
• Experience in SQL for data manipulation and reporting.
• Familiarity with data integration tools (e.g., ODI, Informatica, Databricks) is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
Bonus Points:
• Experience working in the airline industry.
• Experience with Databricks
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Experience with Python for data analysis and scripting.
