Job Description
PMC/PGF is a a food company that creates unique, globally inspired products tailored for Canadian consumers and retailers. We help domestic partners unlock new products and capabilities from idea to delivery, including product development, manufacturing, and logistics.
This role is responsible for supporting Food Product Development Initiatives (Seafood, Frozen CPG, Frozen Vegetables, etc.) to ensure that products are not only exciting and competitive, but also accurate, compliant, and efficiently brought to market.
The successful applicant will work within our End-to-End Product Development Process linking Canadas largest retailers and our range of international plants. They must work in conjunction with Premium Global Foods’ Logistics, Operations, Sales and QA/QC teams to deliver quality, innovation and speed-to-market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Development Support
Assist the Product Development team in new product innovation and improvements
· Visit Manufacturing Facilities for production and Plant Audits
· Overseas International Travel may be required several times a year. Some local and national travel may be required. Requires use of personal vehicle.
Conduct research on market trends, ingredients, and competitive products
Source and procure samples from suppliers
Participate in sensory evaluations and document feedback
Support product trials and work with manufacturing teams during production runs
Assist with documentation related to formulation, costing, and product setup
2. Specifications & Regulatory Coordination
Review and validate raw material and finished product specifications against internal, customer, and regulatory requirements
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all product documentation
Communicate specification requirements clearly to suppliers and ensure compliance
Liaise with QA, regulatory, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies
Maintain organized and up-to-date specification records and databases
Support labeling and regulatory compliance in accordance with Canadian requirements
3. Ingredient & Sample Management
Purchase samples, ingredients and packaging (requires license and vehicle)
Manage shipping, receiving and inventory of samples, ingredients, and materials
Prepare samples for internal reviews, customer presentations, and innovation sessions
Support general administrative and clerical tasks related to product development and QA
Qualifications & Experience
Mandarin or Vietnamese language skills
Degree or Certificate in Food Science or a related field
1–3 years of experience in food product development, QA, regulatory, or a similar environment (co-op/internship experience considered)
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage technical documentation
Understanding of food manufacturing processes and product development workflows
Working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, and Quality Management Systems
Familiarity with Canadian food labeling and regulatory requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specification management systems

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
